Joel Morgan joined the firm of DiCaro, Coppo & Popcke as an associate attorney in May 2009.

Joel earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Southern California in Environmental Science: Biology in 2000. He graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law in May 2008. During law school, Joel served as the Vice-Chairperson of the Appellate Moot Court Executive Board, as a member of the USD National Mock Trial Team, and the Upper Division Representative for the Student Bar Association. Additionally, he interned with the San Diego Veteran Administration Regional Counsel’s Office and co-authored a successful appellate reply brief while working for the USD Environmental Law Clinic.

Prior to law school, Joel served in the United States Army as a Captain in the Medical Service Corps. After leading an ambulance platoon stationed in Germany, Joel deployed on successive tours to Kosovo and Iraq as a medical personnel officer. During his time in the military, Joel earned numerous decorations including the Meritorious Service Medal, the Airborne Badge, and the coveted Expert Field Medical Badge.

Since joining the firm, Joel has focused his practice on representing healthcare providers and facilities in litigation.

Joel enjoys spending his time outside the office with his wife, Johanna, and their yellow lab puppy, Kippie. His interests include golfing, spending time at the beach, sampling San Diego restaurants, USC football, scuba diving, and traveling.
